Summary

I’m giving this five stars because it’s been a long time since I tore through a book in 24 hours。 I was immersed!! Was it the best writing and most unique story。。? No, but it was the cheesy, comforting rom-com that I was craving。

The love story we all hope to have。 Supports love at first sight, but the anxiety about running after what you want。 Everything happens for a reason。 It worked out for the two characters。 Loved the banter humor。 Really good。

Honestly the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I almost felt like the ending was a little rushed。 But to say I devoured this book would be an understatement Honestly the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I almost felt like the ending was a little rushed。 But to say I devoured this book would be an understatement 。。。more

How to even review? What a beautiful love story。 I loved that Olive was so hyper aware of rom com tropes that it affected the way she interacted with Adam。 I loved the dynamic between the two。 I loved everything。

3。5 starsGrumpy/sunshine + fake dating + slow burn, all things I can get on board with, but honestly this book was just okay。 Don’t get me wrong, it’s a cute, easy read, and I enjoyed it。 I love the STEM rep, the accuracy of the academia and science aspect。 Olive and Adam’s interactions are fun and flirty。 But I also have a few gripes。 First and biggest, I hate a third act breakup over a miscommunication trope, it’s always my least favorite。 And in this case, not saying anything to Adam because 3。5 starsGrumpy/sunshine + fake dating + slow burn, all things I can get on board with, but honestly this book was just okay。 Don’t get me wrong, it’s a cute, easy read, and I enjoyed it。 I love the STEM rep, the accuracy of the academia and science aspect。 Olive and Adam’s interactions are fun and flirty。 But I also have a few gripes。 First and biggest, I hate a third act breakup over a miscommunication trope, it’s always my least favorite。 And in this case, not saying anything to Adam because she didn’t want to ruin his friendship with Tom?! Her not saying anything due to the unbalanced power dynamic and not wanting to risk her scientific career I could believe, but saying it was to preserve their friendship makes Olive look pretty doormatty, and she deserves better。 She deserves righteous anger。 Two, it bothered me that Anh kept forcing her friend to participate in PDA when she was clearly uncomfy about it。 Lastly, I don’t love that the only bi character in the book is low-key slut-shamed for “dating like it’s an Olympic sport”; I’m tired of the stereotyped portrayal of bisexual characters as indecisive serial daters who sleep around。 That being said, his storyline ends up in a place I’m okay with so I’ll allow it。Content Warnings: Sexual harassment, Sexual content, Cancer, Death of parent 。。。more

5 stars。 10/10。 They were such a cute couple。 The writing was excellent。 I forgot that I was reading a book and felt like I was right there with the characters。 The best reading experience。 I could not put this book down。 They fake dated。 They kissed。 They…。 Would recommend。 Please do yourself a favor and read this book!

I Read this SOOOO long ago while it was trending。 And it was an alright book tbf。 Olive got on my nerves a little bit (she was on the verge of going onto my list of those annoying fl) and Adam was a good character and really likeable (AARON WARNER 🔛🔝) 。 A wee bit overrated but it’s fine。 Probably wouldn’t read another of her books but that’s just me

Mirela

OMG。 I cannot belive what have I just read。 Olive and Adam are my new favorite thing everrr!!

I totally love this book, i was little confused at the start with the timelines, but later on it all made sense。 The only thing i don't like about this book is the cover, since i had to cover it with my hand so i wouldn't feel embarrassed, but besides that it's perfect! I DEVOURED this book! I think this is the first physical book that I have struggled to put down and I completed it in one 8 hour sitting。The plot was very easy to follow and by having a clear writing style, the pages flowed freely。 It stuck to a Grumpy meets Sunshine, fake relationship trope but it was written so organically that there was no hint of cliche。 It was somewhat predictable but there was a twist I was not expecting which threw me for a spin! There was great character building with the I DEVOURED this book! Not a book I'd have picked up on my own, but a friend gave it to me so I gave it a spin。 Very quick read, sweet, and entertaining。 I usually read meatier novels, but this was a sweet cotton candy treat。 Not a book I'd have picked up on my own, but a friend gave it to me so I gave it a spin。 Very quick read, sweet, and entertaining。 I usually read meatier novels, but this was a sweet cotton candy treat。 。。。more
